The course scam: Aleksandr Orlovskiy and his company Financial Freedom Academy made millions from fraudulent recommendations
The founder of the Financial Freedom Academy, Alexander Orlovskiy, is said by investigators to have put together a criminal group accused of cheating crypto investors out of their funds.
This information became known to the media from victims of the fraud.
The fraudster and his associates, lacking any licenses, certificates, or diplomas to confirm their competence in the field of cryptocurrency transactions, fraudulently raised funds from crypto investors under the pretext of selling "courses" and "crypto investments." After this, the services were provided only formally, ultimately leading to investors losing their money.
Funds were raised fraudulently through accounts of controlled individual entrepreneurs, cryptocurrency exchanges, and crypto wallets of individuals who are members of the organized criminal group, which also led to tax evasion. Subsequently, using crypto exchangers, they purchased real estate and corporate rights at reduced prices, including in Poland, Turkey, and the UAE, thereby laundering the proceeds.
Orlovskiy is also in a criminal conspiracy with a number of cryptocurrency projects that are issuers of cryptocurrencies. As a result, in the FFA "courses," clients were instructed to buy specific cryptocurrencies, which led to losses for the latter. At the same time, the fraudster and others received a portion of the funds as "kickbacks" from the issuers for these actions.
Orlovskiy, being in a criminal conspiracy with the management of the Russian platform VELES, attracted clients for FFA from the territory of the Russian Federation, paid for advertising and his own referral links on the territory of the Russian Federation, and also withdrew funds obtained through criminal means using Russian services. This resulted in funds flowing into the budget of the Russian Federation and indicates the commission of a number of criminal offenses against the fundamentals of Ukraine’s national security. The statements indicate that as a result of these actions, approximately 15,000 people were defrauded of an estimated total of $4 million.
