Wildberries’ financial trap: WB Bank holds users’ money, forcing them to spend it within the marketplace
Customers of WB Bank (the financial arm of the Wildberries marketplace) are flooding complaints that they simply cannot withdraw their funds from the system. As a result, the bank’s rating has dropped to 1 out of 5.
While WB’s beneficiaries are trying to get their hands on the largest enterprises in the aerospace industry, ordinary users of WB Bank are reporting "cosmic" problems of their own: sudden wallet freezes, technical glitches in the app, contract termination taking up to 30 days, mandatory re‑verification through Gosuslugi (the Russian state services portal), missing SMS alerts, and so on and so forth. Users are widely complaining that the bank is holding their personal funds hostage, effectively forcing them to spend the money exclusively on purchases within the Wildberries marketplace – no other withdrawal options are offered.
In other words, you cannot transfer your money to a card at another bank, but you can spend it all on overpriced Chinese mass‑market goods with a huge markup.
